Originally built as a venue for the Empire games in 1934, Wembley Arena was also used as a sporting venue for the 1948 Olympics. Ever since then, it has hosted world class performers including The Beatles, Cliff Richard, ABBA, Bob Dylan, Madonna and Beyoncé. It will host badminton and rhythmic gymnastics for the 2012 Olympics.
