What's it all about?
The classic tale of a young girl, her little dog and a pair of ruby slippers has cast its spell for generations. Now you can re-live the wonder as everything from wicked witches to winged monkeys are brought to life on stage – and sometimes even closer to you than that!
With all your favourite songs from the much-loved, Oscar-winning film score – and one or two marvellous extras from master of musicals Andrew Lloyd Webber – you’ll have an enchanting evening at The Wizard of Oz when you join Dorothy and friends on the Yellow Brick Road.
Who's in it?
Judy Garland is a hard act to follow. But as soon as she opens her mouth to sing 'Over The Rainbow', you won't need further persuasion that Sophie Evans, (runner-up in the TV talent search show of the same title) has got what it takes.
The other songs are just as fresh and brilliant as you remember them – from 'We’re Off To See The Wizard' to 'Ding! Dong! The Witch Is Dead'. And don't forget those Lloyd Webber ‘bonus tracks’.
When the Wizard breaks into 'The Wonders of the World' and the Wicked Witch almost steals the show with 'Red Shoes Blues', you’ll be won over by the unmistakable quality of these classics-to-be.
Des O'Connor takes over from Russell Grant as the Wizard from 22 May. You can check Inside Track for days when he will not be performing.
Suitable for
The Wizard of Oz is fantastic family fare. As you peer into the depths of a twister and gasp at the shimmering spectacle of the Emerald City, you’ll be floored by how faithful this show is to the film, and amazed by the technological wizardry behind the on-stage magic.
Best of all is the thrill of introducing all this to your kids. They’ll be asking you for days how the ruby slippers got on to Dorothy’s feet at a certain moment and begging you to trade in their poor old pet moggy for a flying monkey.

What's the story?
Can a stage show measure up to one of the most magical movies of your childhood? The answer is yes, when all your favourite moments and characters from The Wizard of Oz are lovingly recreated in glorious technicolour.
This is the same great story you know and love about a girl who finds herself stranded in the strange land of Oz. Hounded by the Wicked Witch of the West and helped by Glinda the Good Witch, a Lion, a Scarecrow and a Tin Man, she grows to realise that there really is no place like home.
Staff Reviews
Dorothy's transition from Kansas to Oz was incredible. Everyone will love this show, especially families - the story is timeless. Brace yourself for a wonderful evening's entertainment.
It was beautiful, colourful, magical, happy! The performers were all fantastic, really good singing from everyone, especially Dorothy and the Wicked Witch. The set design is gorgeous, really special. Oh, and the dog is adorable. Magical!
I absolutely loved the décor of the stage; we can see that a lot of time, money and effort has gone into it and the details have not gone unnoticed. The performers coming from the ceiling was a nice unexpected touch as well as the snow flakes. Front rows of the Royal circle and Stalls will bring you surprises that will make you feel part of the show. Smashing.
I thought the set was wonderful - very colourful with some clever use of video imagery. Danielle Hope gave a pleasing and believable performance as Dorothy, although the star of the show for me (aside from Toto, who was simply adorable) was the actress playing Miss Gulch/the Wicked Witch of the West. Her song, 'Red Shoe Blues', simply blew me away.
Well, after waiting 8 months since Over The Rainbow finished, it was time to see just what Our Dorothy, Danielle Hope, could do! The new staging and songs made this a much anticipated event. Danielle was a nice surprise to me. She managed to convey Dorothy’s naivety well.

Absolutely amazing, one of the best I have seen, so many special effects and the witch dangling over audience wow! Would highly recommend to anyone.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Wizard of Oz - being a massive fan of the film I was not disappointed. The special effects were amazing and all the actors were so professional, even Toto was on top form! Best West End musical yet!! All credit to the very talented Andrew Lloyd Webber, would definately recommend and would go again - Loved it!!!
