What's it all about?

When superstar singing diva Rachel Marron is threatened by a mysterious stalker, ex-Secret Service man Frank Farmer is hired to protect her. Her scorn for him turns to love, but can he prevent her death at the hands of her unseen would-be assassin?
What's the story?
World-famous singer Rachel Marron has all the hallmarks of a true superstar – serious talent, exceptional beauty, and an ego to match. When an unseen stalker threatens her life, Rachel's manager insists on hiring former Presidential bodyguard Frank Farmer to protect her.
She hates the idea and can't stand Frank, whom she dismisses as a paranoid pest until he saves her from rioting fans at a concert and love starts to blossom between the unlikely pair. But will Frank be able to save her from death at the hands of her mysterious would-be assassin?

Tony Award-winning actress Heather Headley stars as Rachel Marron. Ms Headley, who created the role of Nala in the Broadway version of The Lion King, has a voice to die for - she's a Grammy nominee and has released a duet with incomporable soul music titan Al Green. Expect show-stopping renditions of I Will Always Love You and a host of other unforgettable classics.
Stepping into ex-Secret Service man Frank Farmer's shoes is Welsh-born West End veteran Lloyd Owen.

From 12 August to 7 September 2013 Gloria Onitiri will be performing the lead role in all evening shows. Understudy Shanay will perform the two matinee shows.

Did You Know?
Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston starred in the smash-hit 1992 movie The Bodyguard, on which the new stage show is based. But did you know that the film’s script was written in the late 1970s as a star vehicle for soul diva Diana Ross and screen legend Steve McQueen?
This version of the film was never made because McQueen wouldn’t accept second billing to Ross, and the script remained unfilmed for 16 years. When Kevin Costner eventually played the role of Frank Farmer, he based his performance style directly on McQueen's mean and moody persona. Even the close-cropped hairstyle he sports in the movie is a nod to the Great Escape and Bullitt legend’s famous thatch.
