What's it all about?
You love Russell Howard on the telly - as regular audience figures of 5 million for his BBC 3 show Good News attest. Now here's your chance to catch one of Britain's funniest and most successful comedians in his element, as he returns to his first love, stand-up, on his first UK tour for three years.
Russell's touring Wonderbox show is an even bigger, brighter and shinier beast than was his previous, thrice-extended trek around these sceptred isles in 2011, which included three sold-out dates at London’s O2.
The Mock The Week regular and creator / star of the aforementioned Good News assures us that he's just bursting to bring you as much of his trademark brand of razor-sharp, upbeat comedy as you can possibly handle.
Celebrate spring with a smile, and a personal audience with the stand-out stand-up The Times called 'Energetic, uncynical and - most importantly - very funny'.
What's the story?
A big part of Russell's appeal is that he's a bit like an overgrown kid. But not a stroppy one, mind. A nice one who you wouldn't mind helping with his homework for an hour or two.
His apparent artlessness and friendly approachability make watching him zip effortlessly from riff to topic to idea and back to riff again a cockle-warming treat. The material's not bad either.
Who's in it?
Russell won Best Compère at the 2006 Chortle Awards and was nominated for an if.comedy award for his 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show.
He's appeared in Radio 1 comedy series The Milk Run, Radio 4's Banter, and on TV in 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Would I Lie To You?, Live At The Apollo, The Secret Policeman's Ball 2008, Law of the Playground and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
As well as his remarkable telly success, Russell has released three bestselling DVDs of his wildly successful live shows: 2008's Russell Howard Live; 2009's Russell Howard Live - Dingledodies and 2011's Russell Howard - Right Here, Right Now.
