What's it all about?
If watching the film is like going on the best holiday of your life without the bother of leaving your seat, imagine how it feels to “see that girl, watch that scene” live on stage. Absolutely nothing beats the experience of watching – and, more importantly, taking part in – this fabulously feel-good show.
With so many of the Swedish super-group’s greatest hits included in Mamma Mia, it’s easy to see why this Abba musical has become a global phenomenon.
Mamma Mia will be performing at the Novello Theatre from 6th September 2012. To book tickets for after this date, please click here
Who's in it?
You might think that nothing could outdo the music in Mamma Mia – and it’s certainly true that the classics keep on coming, from the title track to 'Dancing Queen', 'Waterloo', 'Super Trouper' and 'The Winner Takes It All'.
But with the part of Donna (Meryl Streep in the movie) taken on by Sally Ann Triplett, a distinguished diva who has already played the 'three Rs' – Rizzo, Reno and Roxie in Grease, Anything Goes and Chicago – you’re sure to sashay out of the theatre with these uplifting songs ringing in your ears.
Suitable for
Abba fans the world over are flocking to see Mamma Mia. And with so many dance floor favourites on display, you’ll be glad you did too. Long before the end you’ll be on your feet, singing and dancing with the best of them.
And, with the mother-daughter relationship at its heart, this is one show that both sides can agree on. But watch out if you’re easily embarrassed, girls – your Mum will definitely be donning her disco boots before the evening’s out.
What's the story?
Perhaps the biggest surprise when you see Mamma Mia is just how great the story is and how well the characters complement Abba’s iconic anthems.
A wedding is about to take place on a sun-drenched Greek island, but Sophie has no one to walk her down the aisle. Soon her problems are multiplied when she discovers there isn’t just one possible candidate – but three.
So can she find out who her father is and keep free-spirited mum Donna on side – all while navigating love’s choppy waters?
Staff Reviews
Mamma Mia is one of the most fun and hilarious nights out at the theatre. From the over the top costumes to the lighthearted story, Mamma Mia is one of the best West End shows....and the Abba music is great.
This show has been running now for over 12 years and remains one of the most popular musicals in the West End. Its success is thoroughly deserved as it really is a great night out. The score features many of Abba's biggest hits from the 1970s and early 1980s and after watching this show you are pretty much guaranteed to have a big smile on your face (and more than likely to be humming the tune to 'Waterloo' on your journey home).

Fantastic...The cast engaged the audience and put so much energy into the show......i send my daughter and friend tuesday...Seen the show New York some years ago...last night was the best......Congratulations for this production....
a must see when in London.Seats were excellent. have a very great view of the stage. row G or H would be best. Cast were excellent and they were all very experienced and entertaining. Everyone was dancing to the music and laughing. A little pricy but it was worth it. Would go back to watch more theater in London if I do visit in future. Don't miss it.
Best show i have been to in a long time.
Fabulous! Good fun: great singing, dancing and great sets and costumes. Really well-run theatre too - friendly and efficient ticketing process, clean loos and good seats.
Absolutely fabulous. We had great seats but did have to move because the people in front of us moved along one seat into vacant seats and our view was blocked by a tall, fidgety, lady. However the Theatre staff couldn't have been more helpful and our enjoyment was not spoiled. Thank you!!
It was fantastic ! Cast were great , accoustics cud of been aa bit better , at times it drowned out the actors voices , I loved the end !
