What's it all about?

Once upon a time, after Elvis got lost in Hollywood and before the Beatles burst on to the scene, there was an era of music so extraordinary it can only be called a golden age.

This high-energy jukebox musical harks back to that bygone era – a simpler time of fair grounds and youth clubs, quiffs and polka dots, diners and dodgems, rock’n’roll and romance.

And if you’re not up on your feet enjoying the wonderful party atmosphere of this show after hearing 'Teenager in Love', then we’re not convinced you’ve ever been one.

Who's in it?

Playing love rivals Bobby and Norman are Scott Bruton (X Factor) and Sam Attwater, recent winner of Dancing on Ice but perhaps best known for his role as Leon Small in EastEnders.

The hits keep on coming at Dreamboats and Petticoats, which isn’t surprising really given that the show was inspired by a chart-topping CD. From 'Only the Lonely' to 'Wonderful World', 'Da Do Ron Ron' to 'C’mon Everybody', you can be sure all your old favourites are here – and that you’ll be up on your feet twisting again in no time.

Suitable for

You’ll certainly be hot-footing it to Dreamboats and Petticoats if you’re after a blast from your past. But it’s the sort of show that’s such good fun that people see it themselves, then take their kids – and grandkids.

Youth really is no barrier to enjoying these timeless classics. And you’ll particularly enjoy Dreamboats if you’re a fan of Goodnight Sweetheart, Heartbeat or Happy Days.

What's the story?

Sweet little Laura holds a torch for Bobby, but Bobby’s mooning over brassy Sue, while Sue swoons over the swaggering Norman. In fact, there’s only one thing they’re all wild for – and that’s rock’n’roll.

With a songwriting contest in the offing, can Laura help Bobby realise his ambitions and beat a pair called Lennon and McCartney, while also making her own dreams come true?

At Dreamboats and Petticoats you’ll be transported to a time when crushes were all-consuming and being in a band was the best feeling in the world.

Customer Reviews

Excellent, I brought my mum as a birthday treat as the clothes and music were from her era as a teenager and she enjoyed every minute, and I recall listening to some of the songs as a child. I have recommended the show everyone I've seen since yesterday. Everyone in the stalls that I could see was having fantastic time, the cast looked like they had the best job in the world, lucky things ;0) Fantastic!

-Maura

We visited London a party of 4. We enjoyed the music of the show as we are of the age group that all the songs were well known to us. Overall we were disappointed with the performance as we felt that the professionals were not of the quality we were expecting of a London Theatre.

-Susan

Fantastic show...definately going to see it again! 5 plus show!

-Susan

What can i say about this show? it was my wifes birthday and and i had bought tickets for this show, being advertised as a 60's love story i was almost convinced that i would not enjoy it, how wrong was i? yes it was a love story but with humour and energy is was one of the best evenings we have had for a long time. Thank's to all the cast for a fantastic evening, brilliant. Great fun from start to finish and i did not want it to end.

Excellent show. Nice to see a young cast just starting out on their careers. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Even the 90 year old lady behind us was up and dancing at the end!
