Goodnight Mister Tom premiered at the Chichester Festival theatre last year and after a successful run was given a West End transfer. Goodnight Mister Tom will be the first new play to open at the Phoenix Theatre after Blood Brothers imminent closure on 10 November.
As previously announced, Olivier Award winner Oliver Ford Davies will reprise his role as the titular Mister Tom. He will be joined by other original cast members Louise Collins, Joanne Howarth, Aoife McMahon, Freya Parker, Georgina Sutton, Alan Vicary, Jonathan Warde and Emma Drysdale, along with newcomers Elisa de Grey, Bradley Hall and Osmund Bullock.
Adapted from Michelle Magorian’s novel, Goodnight Mister Tom tells the story of abused 8 year old evacuee William Beech, who is sent to live in the heart of the English countryside during WWII. In the care of Mister Tom, an elderly recluse, he experiences a new life of loving and care.
