According to The Daily Mail, the Menier Chocolate Factory’s revival of Merrily We Roll Along will continue rolling for a good while yet.
Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s musical, wh
ich finishes its initial run at the Menier on 9 March, is reportedly transferring to the Harold Pinter Theatre in April.
Merrily We Roll Along will follow the Pinter’s current tenant, Old Times. Starring Kristen Scott Thomas, Lia Williams and Rufus Sewell, the play will end its strictly limited run on 6 April.
The acclaimed production is directed by Maria Friedman and stars Damian Humbley (pictured) as Charley Kringas, Olivier award winner and Tony nominee Jenna Russell as Mary Flynn, Mark Umbers (pictured) as Franklin Shepard, Josefina Gabrielle as Gussie Carnegie, Glyn Kerslake as Joe Josephson, Clare Foster as Beth Spencer and Zizi Strallen as Meg Kincaid.
The musical charts the turbulent relationship between three friends, Franklin, Charley and Mary, over three decades. Starting in 1980 and travelling backwards in time, it features songs including ‘Good Thing Going’, ‘Not a Day Goes By’ and ‘Old Friends’.
