Evergreen Queen musical We Will Rock You celebrates its 10th anniversary in the West End this year. To mark the occasion, EMI is releasing a special anniversary soundtrack recording on 15 October.
WWRY, which had its 4,000th performance at the Dominion Theatre this week, will be celebrated with a redesigned, repackaged two-disc album that includes the original cast recording plus 11 bonus tracks featuring Queen and vocalists from its many international productions. The disc will come with a 20 page booklet detailing the creation of the show.
The OTT tale is set in a futuristic world where manufactured music dominates the airwaves and a young rebel named Galileo follows a prophecy to find the lost vibe of rock and roll.
As well as continuing its West End run, the show goes on a worldwide arena tour on 27 March 2013. The mega-successful jukebox musical was written and directed by Ben Elton, with music and lyrics by Queen.
