Carrie Hope Fletcher is returning to the cast of Les Misérables at the Queen’s Theatre as Eponine, twelve years after playing the younger version of the same character.  The actress, singer-songwriter and sister of pop-rock band McFly’s Tom Fletcher will join the cast on 17 June.

Alex Gaumond and Kay Murphy (pictured) will join the London cast of Matilda The Musical at the West End’s Cambridge Theatre from 3 September.  Olivier Award-nominated Gaumond will take on the role of horrid headmistress Miss Trunchbull, as originated by Bertie Carvel who now plays it on Broadway. Murphy will play Matilda’s far-from-proud parent, Mrs Wormwood.

Tim Minchin’s Matilda the Musical shone the British beacon at last night’s 67th Tony Awards at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, where it bagged four awards.  The musical won Tonys for Scenic Design (Rob Howell), Lighting Design (Hugh Vanstone), Best Book of a Musical (Dennis Kelly) and Featured Actor for Gabriel Ebert.

Squeaky-voiced funnyman Joe Pasquale is clip-clopping his way into the Playhouse Theatre's hit comedy musical Spamalot as King Arthur from 17 June.  Pasquale is joining the cast for a six-week run on the personal invitation of his friend, the show's Lady of the Lake, Bonnie Langford.

The principal cast of “dirty dancers” have now been confirmed for Dirty Dancing’s return to the West End after an international tour. The show opens at the Piccadilly Theatre on July 13.  Jill Winternitz and Paul-Michael Jones of the current touring cast will reprise their roles as Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman and dance instructor Johnny Castle respectively.

Acclaimed Canadian actress and improviser Rebecca Northan is bringing her show Blind Date to London's Charing Cross Theatre. Performances begin May 28 prior to the official opening on June 4.  Northan’s self-conceived off-beat comedy show began as a ten minute piece of improvisation but was so popular that she was encouraged to turn it into a full length play.
